Insure The Cure Great Strides Atlanta Walk

Risk Innovations prides itself on giving back to our community.  We are excited to announce that for 2017, we will once again support the industry wide Insure The Cure- Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis campaign.  Each year, Great Strides provides a great opportunity for people within the community to get involved in a great cause. Walk day is a fun, family-oriented event with a healthy 5k walk, children’s activities, food, and festivities that participants look forward to year after year.

The Atlanta insurance community has once again come together to form Insure the Cure to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Insure the Cure was formed in 2011 in honor of Clay Snellings’ daughter, Emily (Snellings Walters Insurance).  Emily was born with cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system.  Currently, there is no cure. To see what life is like for Emily & others like her, watch this moving video:

Insure The Cure

Since its inception in 2011, the insurance community has raised over $1,150,000. The industry has banded together agencies, companies, brokers and re-insurers who on most days are fierce competitors, but have united to find a cure for Emily and the 30,000 others living with CF.

To launch walk month, Snellings Walters will once again host their “CF de Mayo” party on party on May 4th at 3pm. There will be authentic Mexican food, drinks, a silent auction and live music. Folks can also pick up their t-shirts for the walk. For more info on their event, check out the flyer here.

The Risk Innovations KC team will be walking on May 13th at Theis Park, in Kansas City, MO. In Atlanta, Insure The Cure has set a goal to recruit 50 teams for the Atlanta Great Strides Walk on May 20th at Suwanee Town Center. As our key partners across the state of Georgia, we are asking once again for you to join us in the fight for a cure!

Lace Up. Walk. Cure Cystic Fibrosis.

This year, Risk Innovations has set a $20,000 goal, and we need your help to reach it! Please visit our Atlanta Team Page, or our Kansas City Team Page, where you can learn more about the walks, sign up to be a Team Member, or donate to this worthy cause.
